Li Hing Crunch
Li Hing is a very Locally used ingredient, mixed in to drinks, sprinkled on dessert, tossed in fruit, and Yes, also mixed with kettle corn. It took me quite a few tries to get this right, but once I discovered making this kettle corn sweet and tart, it blends well with this unique sour plum flavor. Then I figured out it couldn’t stop there, I had to add one more thing to it, “Mochi Crunch.”
Li Hing Mui is ground plum skin, and can be considered an acquired taste, but it has a very yummy sweetness that only you can find here on the islands of Hawaii. Enjoy!
